MONUMENTAL AREA - SALA OTTAGONALE

Officina Bardini - L'arte del Legno (The Art of Wood)

After the first edition of Officina Bardini last year, that presented the workshops set up by Stefano and Ugo Bardini at Palazzo Mozzi between the 19th and 20th centuries, a new exhibiting project of Officina Bardini takes shape. The art of wood presents the carpentry workshop of the Bardinis, where they produced, restored, and reworked chairs, large chests and other furnishings in a Medieval and Renaissance style, highly requested all over the world.

Decorative elements, marquetry, wooden artefacts – along with work tools, photographs, paper models used to restore and create the pastiches that made the Bardini firm so famous all over the world – will allow visitors to access the secrets of this lively workshop, understanding how it worked and exploring the techniques, the materials, the sources of inspiration, and the repertoires.

The exhibition can be visited every day from 10:00 to 20:00. The tour allows to access the underground walkways of the Fortezza.
