Craft 4.0

For Change

Craft 4.0, for change is an event developing and expanding some of the themes that emerged from a previous co-operation between the Architecture Department of the University of Florence and MIDA through the virtual exhibition Craft 4.0. at MIDA2021.


Ceramica di Montelupo

Sweet Ceramics. Design & Crafts in Montelupo

The timeless charm of MONTELUPO ceramics will revive in the exhibition organised in co-operation with the Association Strada della Ceramica di Montelupo inside the Sala della Volta and the Grotte, with a selection of works made by artisans and artists, halfway between heritage and new expressive experiments.


Orchidee in Fortezza

From 23rd to 25th April 2022, in conjunction with MIDA, visitors will be able to admire the most diverse orchids inside the Nazioni Pavilion at the Fortezza da Basso, buying them from professional sellers, seeking advice from the Associations participating in the event and following the many conferences on schedule, during which experts will reveal the history, habitat and the most interesting facts concerning the main types.


Prodigio. Crafts & Performance

Prodigio. Mestieri d’Arte e Performance (Prodigy. Artistic Crafts & Performance) is an exhibition set up inside the spaces of the Monumental Area curated by OMA and promoted by Fondazione CR Firenze, featuring young artisans processing objects live within an ephemeral architecture rich in digital contents and new performers.


Unique Pieces

For MIDA 2022, Confartigianato Imprese Firenze brings a selection of unique creations inside the Palazzina Lorenese. Leather, yarn, gold, silver, paper – these are some of the materials featured, skillfully transformed into original and unrepeatable artifacts by the hands of the most expert artisans, inside the UNIQUE PIECES pavilion.


Beatrice recounts Dante's journey

A visual and mosaic exhibition by female artisans-artists from Florence and Ravenna

A visual and mosaic exhibition celebrating the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s death. A combination created by the female arts and crafts masters of CNA Firenze and by female mosaicists of CNA Ravenna, along with CNA Impresa Donna. 20 all-female works – from scagliola to jewellery, and from fashion to painting, including an endless variety of Ravenna’s mosaics.

Training and Contemporary Jewellery

Find LAO & FJW at MIDA, inside the prestigious premises of the Polveriera. A selection of contemporary jewellery from the LAO collection and of jewellery created by students, along with a programme of events with master goldsmiths and students performing stone setting, engraving, enamelling, wax modelling, CAD, and jewellery design works directly on site.



Artefacendo is a project created by CNA Firenze Metropolitana to enhance the excellence of artistic and traditional craftsmanship, from fashion to furnishings. 35 major artisan businesses will be on show inside the Ghiaie Pavilion, featuring a programme of live demonstrations and works, turning the exhibition into a unique experience for visitors, who will get directly in contact with master craftsmen and the various production processes of their works.


Henraux - Fondazione Henraux

An exhibition featuring six monumental marble works coming from the Henraux Collection and the Henraux Foundation, known all over the world for its imposing architectural, design and art projects. To document how, besides the most advanced technologies, manual work and artisanal talent remain indispensable elements for a marble work, sculptor Renzo Maggi will finish one of his works – “Omaggio a Giocasta” (Tribute do Giocasta) – at the Fair, showing visitors the various working phases of a marble sculpture. On show, also a work by Mimmo Paladino, a representative of transavantgarde, whose complex sculptural language maintains a close relationship with archaic aesthetic. There will also be space for meetings and speeches given by critics and curators, who will talk about marble in the contemporary world.
